Job Description

This position is responsible for developing Quality Assurance Procedures (QAPs), review and approve drawings and ensures the product developed meets customer expectations through the development and execution of process / product validation plans. Able to resolve the most complex quality issues. Evaluates product and process change requests to ensure product quality is not compromised. Member of new product development teams. Promotes the company Quality Policy throughout the organization.  

 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains / enhances the ISO 9000 Quality System, develops procedures and forms, performs failure analysis, dispositions product, resolves quality issues and develops corrective actions
  2. Develops procedures and forms, performs failure analysis, dispositions product, resolves quality issues and develops corrective actions. Revises processes and procedures to help evolve the Quality System
  3. Provides support for existing products.  This involves identifying corrective actions to prevent recurrence of nonconformities, working with suppliers, evaluating customer complaints, reviewing and approving drawing changes, and developing of QAPs
  4. Evaluates non-conforming material, manages quality assurance for incoming materials, assists supply chain with evaluation of supplier performance, and initiates containment actions when appropriate
  5. Provides technical expertise in root cause analysis and development of corrective actions to Quality problems where little precedence has been established and innovative solutions may be required
  6. Uses statistical techniques such as DOE, SPC, Gage R&R, capability studies and Six Sigma to improve designs, analyze problems and monitor processes
  7. Performs Internal Quality Audits and in-process and receiving inspection as required
  8. Generates reports summarizing test results, and trend analysis of data
  9. Performs in-house calibration of tools
  10. Coaches others in continual improvement techniques, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, failure modes effects analysis, control plans, and lean methodology
  11. May lead the Quality Engineering activities in Manager’s absence
  12. Additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an ISO 9000, ISO 13485, AS9101, TS16949 or other regulated environment required
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Six-Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be bilingual, English/Spanish
  •  
  • Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; perform statistical and graphical analysis of data
  • Must be able to take initiative and self-direction in planning, organizing, documenting and solving problems
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering piece part and assembly drawings and specifications
  • Must be able to create and interpret graphs and charts
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and/or engineers
  • Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite

Travel:

  • Up to 50%
