Job Description

This position will participate in a training program to advance professional selling skills. The goal is to train and develop recent graduates to assume an outside sales position within 18 to 24 months from start date. The Sales Development program will also enable the individual to gain insight into Leviton’s businesses, organizational structure and culture. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage, service and call on assigned distributor accounts
  • Participate in business, sales and marketing planning within assigned sales region
  • Grow sales through new relationships with Electrical Contractors, Property Managers, Investors and Builders
  • Maintain database of professional contacts, sales opportunities and accounts using Salesforce.com 
  • Train and develop knowledge of the Leviton product line and their applications in various residential, commercial, industrial, energy management, controls and automation markets
  • Learn and understand the Leviton Supply Chain function and their processes
  • Provide support and/or complete special projects: Marketing Flyers and Promotions, Product Conversations, Develop Sales Presentations, Inventory Management Programs, Returns
  • Work with Marketing Management to provide opportunities for better promotional products and solutions
  • Request and gather feedback from outside sales team to develop materials and processes that can assist the Salesforce and Customers
  • Provide support to the sales force as it relates to literature and sample needs for our distributors
  • Work with the Pricing Coordinators to learn and understand our pricing request system, facilitate pricing quotes for jobs and stock, and expedite approvals as required 
  • Conduct market research, lead generation and demand creation activities
  • Travel periodically with a sales representative or a Regional Sales Manager to learn all aspects of our business relationship with distributors and end users
  • Conduct product training meetings with the sales force and RSM as required
  • To be trained by Finance, Distribution Marketing, Technology, National Accounts, etc. to insure a thorough understanding of our business
  • To be trained by Customer Service regarding potential problems with a distributor as it relates to pending new orders; handle pricing or inaccurate order entry serving as the “go to person” from sales to the customer

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Candidates expected to graduate in May or June of 2018
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in  Professional Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management or Engineering
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Prior internship experience preferred
  • Must exhibit leadership, analytical and effective communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel and relocate for job opportunity
  • Must be committed to completing the 18-24 month program

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of salesforce.com is a plus
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport with employees and customers
  • Ability to take initiative and handle challenging work

 

Travel:

  • 15 – 20% of the time during the training program
