Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring that warranty/non-warranty products are processed (testing/repair and verification of functionality) according to the appropriate procedures for the operation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and pre-test basic products prior to performing repairs
  • Verify and validate product failures
  • Ensure that all products repaired will be serviced to the standards of the Service Department, per test procedures and guidelines
  • Formulate the proper creation and disbursement of return authorizations, via support programs
  • Maintain stocking levels of parts required for servicing
  • Oversee the repair process and determine workload as needed
  • Document repair trends and product design errors
  • Assist and/or perform any specialized testing as assigned

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have electronic, mechanical, or electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Must be proficient in the use of soldering irons and hand power tools
  • Must have working knowledge of the use of electronic testing and measuring devices
  • Must be able to read wiring schematics and or riser diagrams
  • Must have knowledge of electronic devices and/or lighting controls/dimmers

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience  
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in technical product evaluation /analysis, quality assurance or related experience in Electro-mechanical or Electronic

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
