Job Description

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and recommending sales strategies for the Western region.  The position will manage the sales team and focus them on creating demand for Leviton Security & Automation products through our strategic distribution partners, CASE community, end users, national accounts and builders located within the territory.  In addition, this role will be responsible in growing our network of installers.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Determine and implement the region’s sales strategy, within the context of Leviton’s broader business strategy
  2. Develop a comprehensive sales plan for the assigned region focusing on achievement of region sales objectives
  3. Manage, coach and mentor a team of employee sales reps, sales specialists, and/or agent sales reps to effectively execute the region’s sales strategy
  4. Conduct field visits to assist the sales team and drive demand for Leviton products (field visits should account for 60% of RSM work time)
  5. Provide sales and technical coaching to the sales team to ensure that sales individuals have requisite skills to achieve sales goals
  6. Manage the region’s budget and assist in determining ideal sales territory size to achieve maximum profitability and sales
  7. Coordinate the use of internal Leviton resources to develop key business opportunities
  8. Establish the region’s stock and price levels with respect to Leviton product
  9. Ensure Leviton representation at industry trade shows and other similar events
  10. Manage the region’s sales force recruiting and onboarding processes (hire, direct, train, motivate, and supervise sales individuals within region)

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, either technical or business degree preferred; MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of experience selling Leviton product or prior experience as a regional/district sales manager

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must posses strong leadership, relationship-building, and relationship management skills
  • Must have outstanding oral, written and verbal communication/presentation skills as well as strong negotiation skills
  • Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must have a high level of comfort in communicating with every level of an organization from top level executives to field personnel
  • Must posses strong business acumen
  • Must be financially competent with respect to managing the region’s budget and analysis of region performance
  • Must show demonstrated success as a member of the Leviton sales force or sales force in an equally complex industry

Travel:

  • 50%-60%
