Job Description

This position is responsible for performing technical product evaluations to validate, determine root cause, and recommend effective corrective actions.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Perform technical evaluation on returned products to validate and determine root cause
  2. Perform circuit analysis to determine root cause of electronic issues
  3. Generate reports summarizing test results and analysis of data 
  4. Assist the manufacturing plants in determining and implementing effective corrective action to prevent recurrence of valid complaints
  5. Enter and maintain items into the Quality Concern System 
  6. Provide support for product development through testing and analysis of electronic and electromechanical devices in accordance with Leviton requirements. Includes UL, CSA, IEC and government standards, as necessary
  7. Selection and keep inventory of equipment, tools and supplies for workspace
  8. Construction of specialized test fixtures and equipment for various tests and requirements
  9. Assist and/or perform any specialized testing as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in Applied Science, Engineering or related field 
  • 0 to 5 years’ experience in technical product evaluation /analysis, quality assurance or related experience in Electro-mechanical or Electronic products

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have electronic, mechanical, or electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to read and interpret electronic schematics and specifications
  • Must have ability to solder electrical and electronic components 
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team, handling multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Familiarity with UL, CSA, IEC and government standards and test procedures a plus
  • Have a general knowledge of household and industrial electrical devices and wiring 
  • Must have the ability and  and knowledge of using hand  shop tools 
  • Must have a familiarity with some of the following tests and equipment: Digital Multi Meter, Volt, Amp, Watt Meters, Oscilloscope, , and Thermocouples and temperature testing
