Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for supplying materials to support production by performing the duties involved in receiving, stocking and issuing materials/supplies.

Job Responsibilties:

  1. Supports production by pulling all materials necessary to complete shops orders 
  2. Assits in manufacturing procexsses and changeovers as requested
  3. Verifies and maintains product identification and count
  4. Communicates with lead and assemblers to determine schedule of work for pulling materials
  5. Prepares inventory records and investigates discrepancies in stock counts
  6. Performs in-process production scrap duties
  7. Organizes material shelves/staging areas as needed for optimum efficiency
  8. Operates material movement equipment as needed in a safe and efficient manner to prevent injury to self, others and other equipment
  9. Supports departmental goals and objectives for quality, production and equipment maintenance
  10. Maitains clean work areas; generates move or scrap transcations as needed to ensure inventory accurary
  11. Comply with all established safety procedures and policies
  12. Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

Network Solutions:

  1. Supports receiving by verifying conformance to invoices and stocking all received components on the appropriate shelf location

North Carolina Manufacturing

  1. Assists with operation of manufacturing equipment as directed
  2. Performs weigh counts for materials and stores them as necessary

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have the ability to take an active role in recommending and implementing continuous improvements in the material handling department
  • Must have the ability to successfully complete on-the-job training (OJT) requirements
  • Must posses the ability to use judgment related to identifying potential safety hazards
  • Must have the ability to earn motorized material handling equipment license
  • Basic computer skills required

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum three months related experience

Shift:

  • Monday-Friday,5:00am - 1:30pm

Travel:

  • 1% possible
