Job Description

Responsibilities include design, development and test of all aspects of electrical components, pcb assemblies, products, and/or systems. This individual performs electronic engineering work of moderate complexity under general supervision requiring a high degree of technical competence. Ability to work on several complex assignments concurrently that require contact with virtually all departments within Leviton and outside vendors and suppliers. This individual does not have direct supervisory responsibility.
 
Job Responsibilities:

  1. Design analog circuits including power supply, amplifiers, and sensors
  2. Design digital, microprocessor based circuits with understanding of the firmware requirements
  3. Build and test prototypes and integrated systems as a part of development process
  4. Operate in a multi-disciplinary team environment, practicing concurrent engineering principles 
  5. Participate in design reviews related to assigned projects
  6. Develop product specifications based on project and marketing objectives
  7. Perform evaluation of circuits and assemblies, including agency testing (FCC, UL, CSA, etc.)
  8. Understand manufacturing requirements of the products and apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly concepts
  9. Assist in component evaluation, documentation and review of component drawings
  10. Support resolution of field and sustaining issues

Education & Experience:

  • BSEE required; MS / MSEE desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analog / digital hardware circuit design

Skills & Abilities:

  • Bench and system-level integration / debug / troubleshooting
  • Proven experience in electrical design of printed circuit boards
  • Capable of constructing and testing electrical assemblies
  • Experience in ECAD, Altium Designer desirable, with ability to create schematic and layouts
  • Understanding of system grounding / shielding and EMI mitigation design practices
  • Familiarity with failure analysis techniques such as DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Experience with agency test requirements (UL, FCC, CSA, etc.)
  • Team player with good communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

 

Travel:

  • Up to 10% travel may be required
